The recent death of Adam Yauch, founding member of the Beastie Boys has left a hole in the music industry. Yauch was best known to the world over as the thoughtful, witty, funny, loving, in-your-face rapper MCA died on May 4 after a three year battle with cancer. The Beastie Boys trio were New York rappers whose music starting in the 1980s transformed the growing genre and helped take hip-hop nationwide. He will be truly missed.
